IFS Group Consultation

Consultation groups offer a supportive, confidential community to tend to your clinical questions, challenges and vulnerabilities. Clinical work can be isolating and bewildering. You’ll experience that you are not alone as your hard-working caregiving, helper parts receive the mentorship, support, and connection they deserves. 

This time is just for YOU–no one else to care for. You’ll find space from the parts activated by this demanding work, leaving you more energized, hopeful and less burned out.

*Groups that count towards IFS Certification or Re-Certification are indicated and limited to 6 members.

**IFS Consultation is not the equivalent of Clinical Supervision towards any formal licensure process. Laura Schmidt, LMFT, operates independently and is not directly affiliated with IFS-I.

  • All Consultation Groups are for healing professionals with active caseloads--the basis of our work together.

    Groups vary based on IFS experience level, size (6 members max will count towards IFS Certification) and frequency.

  • Joining a group gives you:

    Access to an international community of colleagues seeking clinical support, guidance and expanded Self leadership.

    Groups include case consultation, guided meditation, group process/parts work, Q&A, didactic teaching and brief demos.

    Members of Group Sets have access to their meeting recordings for the duration of their group set. Recordings do not count towards Certification hours.

    Each group member presents at least one case for consultation, responding to a set of questions prior to the meeting.

    Group members have a private page to ask questions and post topic requests for group time.

    Group Sets run biweekly or monthly and meet 5-8 times for two hour meetings between October and May.

    *Groups for IFS Certification or ReCertification are designated as such and limited to 6 members.

    Non-Certification groups are larger than 6.

  • Consultation Group registration opens seasonally in January and September. Groups take a Summer Pause in July and August.

    Drop-in groups and other events occur year-round. Sign up for our Sunday Pause mailing to receive first updates on Offerings and early registration.

  • Offered throughout the year at various days/times. Healing professionals with a basic IFS intro and an active caseload are welcome.

    Groups include guided meditation, group parts check in, Q&A, live demo and group processing afterwards.

    Recordings of Drop-In groups are not available unless you’re the demo volunteer.

  • For therapists or practitioners with active caseloads who desire Certification or Recertification hours and have completed the IFS Institute's Level 1.

    *Limited to 6 group members.

  • For therapists or practitioners with active caseloads who completed IFS Level 2.

  • For Advanced Clinicians/Practitioners seeking mentoring and support to Launch & Lead their own Groups.

    If you're ready to take this leap or already have, this group is for you! Group includes basic structure of Laura's typical consult group +  behind the scenes details unique to this endeavor & disclosures from Laura's wealth of experiences launching and leading dozens of groups over the years.

    You'll also have direct access for Laura to work directly with the parts stirred up by this endeavor and witness her work with your colleagues.
